'Throwing the bat and roaring' Ohtani PS First Home Run, 3rd place in Batflip this year... Then who's No. 1?

While Freddie Freeman (35, LA Dodgers) was selected for the honor of the 2024 Major League's best bat flip, Shohei Ohtani (30, LA Dodgers), who recorded an unprecedented 50 (homer)-50 (steal), was also listed.

MLB.com , the official website of Major League Baseball, selected and announced the "2024 Best Bat Flip" on the 27th (Korea time).메이저사이트

Freeman was selected as the best bat flip (aka Padun) on October 26 in the first round of the World Series.

Freeman blasted a dramatic home run to lead his team to victory. This was the situation of the home run. In Game 1 of the World Series against the New York Yankees, Freeman stepped in to the plate with the bases loaded with two outs in the 10th inning when the Dodgers was trailing 2-3. And he hit a come-from-behind grand slam to Nestor Cortes.

Freeman knew it was a home run. He did not throw the bat but lifted it up to the sky. After confirming that the hit went over, he dropped the bat and ran around the ground with his right hand raised.

Freeman was honored as MVP with a batting average of .300, four homers, 12 RBIs and an OPS of 1.364 in five World Series games.

The second place went to the bat flip of John Kenshi Noel of the Cleveland Guardians in Game 3 of the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees. Noel, who came out as a pinch hitter with two outs and a runner on second base in the bottom of the ninth inning when Cleveland was trailing 3-5, fired a dramatic equalizer against Yankees closer Luke Weaver. As soon as the ball hit, Noel threw the bat hard and calmly headed to the first base without expressing his joy.

Ohtani's name was also visible. He was in third place. It was Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres. He entered the batter's box for the second time with runners on the first and second bases with two outs in the second inning when his team was losing 0-3. Ohtani swung a fastball by opposing starter Dylan Sheese to hit the ball over the right fence. It was a three-run arch that tied the game.

Ohtani did not usually show emotion, but fall baseball was different. Perhaps because it was his first postseason home run, Ohtani roared and rejoiced after throwing the bat.

They were followed by the bat flip of the Boston Red Sox Raphael Devers and Juan Soto. Willy Adames' bat flip from the game against San Francisco on Aug. 28 was ranked 40th.
